Land of a Thousand Smiles
Stranger In This TownI could have a lot of fun with this guy's last name and juxtapose it with his music, which turns out not to be Stone-rock but actually a blend of folk and country that comes off sounding a little like James Taylor's music as sung by Gordon Lightfoot, but I won't because the music here is actually good. Kevin is joined by three more Stonerocks (I would have to assume they are all related) in his very capable band and the resultant sound is a very well-textured me'lange that thankfully turns what could have been a bland melding of folk and lite rock into something a lot more meaty and meaningful... this is a very, very solid CD and bodes well for Stonerock's future. He's definitely a talent worth watching.

("Stranger In This Town") is wonderful! I have listened to it several times. My seventeen year old son likes it to. He says he enjoys (Stonerock's) music because it is "real". Thanks for giving me something I can share with my teenage son. That makes your music even more special.
